¡Information & FAQs!

What is a zine?
A zine is traditionally a self-published piece of paper media. A FanZine is a zine put together about a particular piece of established media, sometimes by a single person and other times by a group.
What is this zine about?
¡Square Up! is a combination calendar and anthology centered around the characters from the "Bakusquad" in a punk setting. This calendar may feature mature themes that are often found within the punk culture but is not explicitly NSFW. The digital anthology may feature romantic relationships and explicit content.
Will this be a digital or physical product?
¡Square Up! will have a physical calendar with a digital PDF anthology and a combination of digital and physical merch. The type of merch will be dependent on the interest check.
The size of the calendar will be dependent on the interest check based on the style of calendar people most prefer. The PDF anthology will be A4 (210mm x 297mm) format.Where will the profits of the zine go?
This is a for-profit project, meaning all proceeds will be divided up evenly between contributors.
Will there be romance, or gen. only? NSFW? Ships?
Our calendar will be general, featuring the characters: Ashido, Bakugou, Jirou, Kaminari, Kirishima, and Sero throughout. Ships may be implied, though they are not the main feature. Our accompanying anthology may include romantic relationships within the "Bakusquad." NSFW will be allowed within the anthology, though the main focus is still punk culture.
How old must I be to participate?
All contributors must be 18 or older at the time of their application. Should a contributor apply and/or be accepted and it is found out they lied about their age, they will be removed from the project and will not receive compensation.
How many contributors will you be accepting?
There will be a maximum of 27 contributors that can be accepted, including guests, with the breakdown being as follows:
10 Writers : 2 Guests
12 Calendar Artists : 3 Guests
4 Merchandise Artists : 1 Guest
There are a total of 21 spots open to applicants. How will contributors be compensated?
As this is a for-profit project, each contributor will receive at minimum a free copy of the digital version of the calendar, PDF, and digital merch.
Depending on sales, contributors may also receive a free copy of the physical calendar and merch or equivalent monetary pay out.Generative AI, plagiarism, and art theft will not be tolerated. Anyone caught doing so will be immediately removed from the project, banned, and will not receive compensation.
